Inbound marketing and content marketing are terms that have been frequently used in the marketing industry of late. Inbound marketing refers to the marketing activities that earns the attention of customers and brings visitors in. Inbound marketing activities include: building external links to your website, blogs, social media marketing, SEO, video, eNewsletters, podcasts and other forms of content marketing.
Content marketing is the creation and sharing of relevant and beneficial information to attract, acquire, engage and retain a specific target market. Inbound marketing is about enticing your prospects towards you with appealing content.
Inbound and content marketing tactics originated because consumers’ trust in paid advertising was declining and brands had to win back the trust and respect of customers, not push sales messages. Inbound marketers aim to engage their audience in two-way communication by creating content that entertains, educates and provides value.
Inbound and content marketing must be at the heart of your marketing strategy. Brands must publish content to attract visitors to your website, convert them to leads and educate them on purchase decisions.
